WHY DO WE ONLY USE BRIDLE GRADE LEATHER?

Having been an equestrian for most of my life, I have handled bridle leather day in and day out.  A good quality bridle will last a life time. Equestrian gear is really put to the test in all kinds of weather and conditions, rain, mud, sweat, dust, and heat to name a few.  Bridle leather is the best quality leather available. It is known for its hard-wearing properties, yet is soft to the touch for both horse and handler.  It also wears better with age and is less likely to crack and break, giving you a superior product that should last the lifetime of your beloved pet.

Our bridle leather is hand cut and prepared using select grade steer hides. All of our products are hand stitched by leather craftsmen.  TAC products only use the finest grade solid, brass hardware available. To finish the process, the leather is then edged and hand rubbed; this softens the edges of the leather and draws the natural oils out producing an elegant, soft-to-the-touch finish.

WHY ROLLED LEATHER?

Rolled leather collars are generally more comfortable on both your dog's neck and on your hands. Rolled collars are really well suited to hairy dogs or those who prefer a more elegant looking collar around their dogs neck.

WHY A NAME PLATE?

Having owned many many dogs over the years and replacing countless dog tags, I decided to overcome this problem by attaching a plate with all relevant info so my dogs always had identification.  The other reason is because they look so elegant and smart on any dog big or small.

WHY ONLY ONE STYLE OF COLLAR & LEAD?

Quite simply because rolled leather is so beautiful, hardwearing, comfortable and elegant. TAC collars look fabulous on any dog, whether pedigree or your regular run-of-the-mill bitzer.  Be confidant that your beloved pet can leave home looking sharp, feeling comfortable and being safe.

CARING FOR YOUR LEATHER.

Using a soft cloth with a  very small amount of soft detergent such as wool wash, wipe over the wet collar/leash and rinse, remove excess water and leave to dry.  Then, using what ever type of olive oil you have in your pantry, place a small amount about the size of a 10 cent piece in the palm of your hand and rub over the the entire collar including the brass accessories.  The warmth of your hands will help the leather absorb the oil.  Remove any excess oil with a rag and then pop the collar back on your pooch.  Done! How easy is that!

SIZING - AND HOW TO MEASURE YOUR DOGS NECK

Option 1- measure the old collar (if it's the right size)- Use a tape to measure from outer edge of the buckle to the hole used.

Option 2- measure the neck size (just like measuring for a shirt). Use a tape measure to measure how you wish the collar to fit around your dog’s neck i.e. with enough room as not to be tight but not so loose that the head slips through. A rough gauge is to allow two fingers to fit easily under the tape whilst measuring.

When you have determined the measurements please check which size is required. TAC offers 5 collar sizes XS, S, M, L & XL.

*THIS IS A ROUGH SIZE GUIDE, FOR A CORRECT SIZE PLEASE MEASURE YOUR DOGS NECK - TAC DOES NOT ACCEPT REFUNDS OF  PERSONALISED PRODUCTS.
